Searches for senior public library professionals is an area of expertise we have developed over the years. We have a number of successful engagements with public libraries to help them find:
- Library Directors
- Fiscal Officers
- Human Resources leaders
- Library technology leaders
Our latest success story highlights our talent acquisition and recruiting services and how we have successfully helped library trustees when they need to appoint a Executive Director.

Molly Hanlon is the President of the Board of Trustees and our project partner. She said:
From day one, OA was a professional and supportive partner in HMMPL's search for a new Executive Director. They began the process by helping the library better define the responsibilities of the Director during a time of great growth, and mid-construction of a new branch. OA was committed to understanding the community we serve, visiting the area and meeting with staff and members of the board to fully evaluate our needs. Their experience across all HR disciplines and their expertise in senior management recruitment made them stand out among other search firms in the Midwest.
Thanks to OA's exceptional work, we found a new Director who has seamlessly assumed the role and is already a fantastic leader. OA took the time to get to know her well to ensure a successful connection and followed up with onboarding help so that the new Director could jump right in on day one. We are delighted with our new Director and truly enjoyed working with OA. We wholeheartedly recommend OA to any organization seeking a strategic, dedicated and results-driven approach to recruitment and workforce strategy.
Kristin Shelley was selected as the new Executive Director, who started at the end of July. The local news welcomed her in an article in August.
