Earlier this week, our blogpost reminded employers about the September 30th deadline to submit their EEO-1 Survey Reports, but going forward, employers may have more requirements when completing this workforce analysis. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission [EEOC] issued a proposal back in July 2016 to include pay data by gender, race, and ethnicity in future EEO-1 Survey Reports, attempting to point out significant pay differences. This July proposal would also change the next deadline from September 30, 2017 to March 31, 2018. What does this mean for employers? If this proposal is approved, companies will need to update their HRIS and payroll systems by January 1, 2017 to ensure they are capturing and reporting all new required data for 2017.
